Our adventure into Dark View Falls started with us having to cross a bamboo bridge that stretches over a fast running river, after taking our time crossing the bridge we were lead to an upward trail that took us to a lush garden area under a mix of bamboo & various other trees, after crossing that are which we saw a few explorers relaxing we came across a wooden platform that showcases, the first waterfall.

What I love about Dark View Falls is that the waterfalls alone are not the feature, the whole area is the experience, from the time you cross the bamboo bridge, it’s like you’re immersed in a surreal natural adventure, after capturing the beauty of the first waterfall area we decided we would go exploring to see if there was a possible way to capture the area above, we followed a trail passing a couple of explorers along the way making their way back down, the reason everyone was on their way back down was because we were warned upon entry, we would have up until about 4:30-5:00 before the park closed & everyone would leave and that the last van back to the city would be leaving around 6pm and it was already 4:45, so what did we do? We lied to ourselves 🙂 saying we would cover the area as fast as we could then hike quickly back to catch the last bus to the city, which turned into an adventure on it's own, we’ll get back to this part of the story later 🙂 we came upon a very big, long flight of steps, we realized half way up these were the type of steps that make you ask questions about your life and how you choose to make decisions, steps so big you could only use one foot at times to get to the next level, we finally reached the top and we were in awe at how beautiful the area was, we started to capture the area above the first set of falls, then we looked around and that’s when we saw it, the second waterfall.

Dark View Falls had 2 waterfalls, I guess we should’ve picked that up from the name, both waterfalls have their own unique features that boasted their own beauty, the joy was short lived for me because I then I realized I'd left my tripod at the last shooting area 😭 for some reason the other team member seemed to find this extremely funny, so I made my way back down as fast as I could halfway crying about the journey I would have to take back up those very long, big flight of steps, since when does hell lead upwards I thought to myself, I grabbed my tripod then back up I went, to capture videos, photos and virtual reality of the area, even though difficult, it was truly worth the trip, we then made our way out of the park at 5:35, we walked, ran, made friends with some goats and met with some very nice people that encouraged us to run even faster by saying ehhh boy wunna real late you might not get a bus eh, (Translation for those of you that don't speak island) Hey guys you all are really late and might miss the bus) the next adventure became the journey to get the bus 🙂 we nearly had to camp in the forest overnight because of getting caught up with capturing the beauty of the area, upon leaving we hiked about 20 mins before we saw any other people, our hike eventually ended and it was close to sunset, we saw the last bus of day in the distance, the last bus that would be able to take us back into the city, as it reversed so they could turn around and make that final trip, we sprinted and shouted to ensure they heard us and we weren't left behind 🙂 this lush beautiful area is really worth the trip and is truly one of St. Vincent's unique gems.
